Mommy had another photo shoot with Bailey the other day and this time it involved trying on a green tutu. Mommy has been talking about getting Bailey into some dance classes and daddy is excited as well. I mean, “the arts” run in both mommy and daddy with daddy playing music and mommy dancing for most of her life. Not only mommy but Bailey’s aunt Lisa and aunt Beth as well. Then add her cousins to the list and so on and so on … we think she’ll take to it naturally.
This photo is great because it almost looks like Bailey is posing in First Position

In addition to playing outside in the hot tub Bailey loves to just be outside. Whether it’s in the yard or on the deck, it doesn’t matter … outside = fun in Bailey’s eyes
Bailey’s favorite toys lately have been the “People” toys mommy and daddy grew up with … I mean, can you blame her, they are classic fun toys to play with unlike a majority of the silly stuff nowadays.
Bailey likes to have pool parties with her peoples, which means we’ll usually find a bucket of hers in the bathroom sick filled with a dozen or so people. Mommy is making sure Bailey has good manners in that she’ll clean up her toys after she’s done playing with them. Thank goodness too because Bailey loves to walk in her room pick up a container that has about 10 lbs of toys in it, carry it into the living room (or deck) and dump it out all over the place

The past couple of months we’ve been letting Bailey get in the hot tub with us. Of course we keep the water temperature at 98 degrees or lower and she’s only ever in the hot tub at most for 15 minutes. She enjoys getting in there and playing though. Lately her favorite aspect of the hot tub is splashing water in daddy’s face.
Gotta love the hair do in the photo seen here … not sure if this is post bath time or the hot tub … either way, cute pic

Bailey’s talking more than ever. She’s started to spout off a bunch words together as if she’s voicing her thoughts into sentences. She’s adding new words to her vocabulary all the time and I’m sure it won’t be too long before she starts holding her own in a conversation.
The past two times mommy put Bailey on the phone with daddy Bailey carried on a solid conversation … granted daddy understand maybe 10% of it but Bailey was talking up a storm.
In the mornings when daddy leaves for work Bailey is more anxious than ever to say “buh bye” … almost like she knows I’ll be leaving so she cuts to the chase and says “buh bye” before I’m even ready to leave.
Mommy has been very diligent in making sure Bailey cleans up after herself. You just need to ask Bailey to pick up her toys and she gladly does. Mommy also has Bailey throwing her diapers away in the trash for her after she is done being changed. A very good little helper

For about a week prior to Bailey’s birthday Bailey and mommy spent a week up home with family. Bailey got to see her other favorite ga-ga and her aunt Lisa. Of course, aunt Lisa being the perfect aunt she is got Bailey several great gifts. Tthe best gift and Bailey’s all-time favorite so far was the doll “Jessie” that aunt Lisa gave her.
Here you can see Jessie enjoying a nice Sunday afternoon on our dining room table with a few of Bailey’s pals

Bailey enjoyed her birthday weekend, particularly the cake. Here you can see she got into the fridge all on her own and saw the double-layer cake we made her. Of course, she knew what it tasted like so she couldn’t wait to dig into it. Of course, I had to let her do it just so I could grab a photo.
She tore right into it standing right in front of the fridge … who needs a plate or utensils, heck a table to eat on for that matter
Also, Bailey’s been singing E-I-E-I-O, which is pretty cute. You can actually hear her singing it in this video clip.

Bailey turned two on July 10, 2010 … wow, two years old already. Mom was concerned with making it really, really special and dad was taking it a little easier. Dad’s excited for the birthdays where he can shower Bailey with cool gifts
Mommy did a terrific job blowing up some balloons, picking out some gifts and more. And of course ga-ga got Bailey some great gifts as well. Between ga-ga and Aunt Lisa they both took a majority of mommy’s gift ideas. I guess it’s great to have family members who pick out such great gifts
We actually headed over to our friend’s daughter’s birthday on the tenth. Bailey’s little buddy Carly turned one so we decided to head over there instead of trying to compete for dates and such. Besides, that first birthday is the best one. Bailey had a blast playing with Carly and all the other kids that were invited. Bailey really tuckered herself out and she pretty much slept the whole car ride home.
The following day we celebrated Bailey’s birthday. We made a cake for her but our friend’s also provided us with a Big Big cake, which we picked up at their daughter’s birthday. A great gesture on their part and Bailey loved it (as you’ll see below.) Check out the videos below to get a glimpse of her special day.

This past weekend we spent four nights down in Cape May. Mommy and daddy were excited to get away for a mini-vacation. Things have been hectic lately and it was nice to get away and do nothing but eat good food and relax.
It was us as well as ga-ga, aunt Rhianna and cousin Jaydyn. Bailey had a blast with Jaydyn. They were two peas in a pod. Everywhere Jaydyn went Bailey was right there with them. They got to play and build castles on the beach although Bailey was frightened every time the water rolled up the beach.
The hotel we stayed at had a pool so we got a chance to swim in there in addition to the ocean (although daddy was the only one to really swim in the ocean.) They had a beach ball at the pool, which Bailey had to have in her hands at all times.
Here’s a photo of the family on sunset beach (where you can find the Cape May diamonds) taken by ga-ga.

So Toy Story 3 was released yesterday and we decided that a matinee show today would be the better time to see it. Thinking that if Bailey started crying or threw a fit that we wouldn’t bother that many people.
I learned a few new things today being a father. I learned that children under three are FREE at the theater, which is awesome! Then I learned that they have booster seats for children as well … who knew. I mean, this is some basic stuff but I never thought about it so they were pleasant surprises.
To top it off the movie was amazing! The short film beforehand (“Night and Day”) was top notch as well. What can we say, mommy and daddy are huge pixar fans. They showed like hundred (actually four or five) previews, which seemed to last forever. It’s amazing the different outlook you have on things when you’re hoping for the movie to start so your daughter doesn’t being crying. The one preview (about some owls) actually made Bailey cry for a minute or two. Thankfully they showed an animated preview after that one to calm her back down.
Once the movie started Bailey was absolutely enthralled with what was on the screen. Here and there we could hear “wow” or “whoa” but she pretty much stayed intent on watching the film. Afterwards we played at the arcade area for a bit before heading home.
In the photo attached with this post you can see Bailey post movie all content and sleeping with her pals in the car
What a great day
